The ‘Oscars’ of the education world, Minerva was delighted to be selected as a finalist in the ‘School Procurement Service’ Category for the 5th consecutive year! Described as the awards for the ‘movers and shakers’ of the education industry shortlisted companies were described as having offered an ‘outstanding contribution to the sector’.

An initiative by the regional press industry to boost local businesses. Fronted by Deborah Meaden of Dragons’ Den fame Minerva was in the final shortlist of five successful SME’s in the Basingstoke area. The judges said “The people leading …… these businesses clearly have great drive, determination and passion which will stand them in good stead”.

Winner of the National Entrepreneur of the Month for the Entrepreneur’s Circle Lorraine was described by organisation founder, and multi-award winning entrepreneur himself, Nigel Botterill as “a stellar businesswoman”. Lorraine beat over 2000 other members of the Entrepreneur’s Circle nationwide to claim the award. Lorraine was recognised for the sheer scale of initiatives she has implemented in her business and for the results they have delivered including multiple other award wins!

Commenting on the award in the Best New Business in the business support category to Minerva Procurement Consultancy Services, Andrew Areoff, Chairman of the Judges, said: “…..Lorraine is now giving schools a lesson in getting value for money. Realising that schools have limited procurement experience ….. she set up Minerva in 2010. Top marks to Lorraine for cleverly spotting a gap in the market.”

Each year The Wow Company celebrate entrepreneurship through their awards. Companies are assessed on all aspects of their business from service to finance and marketing to strategy. Being selected as a finalist for the second year in succession was described as “a great achievement given the number and quality of entrants”. Perhaps third time lucky……?
