Webinar Recording: Cyber Attacks: How to Stop Them Happening

We are joined by Neil Limbrick from The Education Collective. Neil has been in education for 22 years undertaking various strategic IT roles in schools and MATs with particular success in developing systems to improve functions, efficiency and security – the latter being vital in today’s precarious environment.

Cyber attacks are, worryingly, on the increase in schools and, recently, have been widely covered in the news. New figures from the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), show 347 cyber incidents were reported in the education and childcare sector in 2023 – an increase of 55% on 2022.

The impact on schools and students is wide reaching and the attacks are disturbing and sinister.

In this webinar Neil shares real world examples of cyber attacks that have happened in schools and MATs. He explains the flaws that led to the attack being possible and the practical steps you can take to prevent them – none of which require expensive or complicated purchases, just tightening up of policies and procedures that are already in place.
